Trichostoma trichostoma's body consists of three parts: head, chest and abdomen. The head is composed of skull, compound eye, single eye, antennae and mouthparts. The chest can be divided into prothorax, middle thorax and posterior thorax with one pair of feet each in the prothorax, middle thorax and posterior thorax. The ovipositing tube is both the female bee's reproductive organ and the parasite's egg weapon.
